Street:
Gwithian Beach
City:
St Ives
State:
Cornwall

Description

Gwithian Beach is fairly exposed to most northerly and westerly swells, it tends to offer the best waves at low - mid tide.

In a South-Easterly wind it can offer fast hollow waves. Crowds are not too much of a problem due to the length of the beach and the number of peaks.

With miles of golden sands the beach is excellent place to come for the day with the family.
During the summer it is worth noting that there could be rip currents, but the beach is lifeguarded.

News Flash

The first round of the BSUPA contest series to find a men and womens Champion in 2008 is now on.  Location is West Wittering Beach on 17th and 18th May.  Simon and myself have been working hard on the contest rules and regulations and we are now publishing them on as many SUP sites as we can to get the message out.  If you would like to compete then please read the rules, join BSUPA and fill in the contest entry form.  We also have a party planned on the Saturday night at the Bell Inn in Birdham.  All in all it should be a great weekend.  Lets pray for some waves !
